30-06-2022, Pulwama: “Save Youth Save Future” organised another Seminar titled “Peaceful Co-Existence and Compassion for humanity at the heart of Islam” as part of its Free 4 Youth series at Dolphin Para-Medical College Pulwama.
The event began with a recitation by one participant. He shed light on mutual coexistence and emphasised the importance of advancing peaceful coexistence in order to improve productive, meaningful lives and sustainable societies. He continued by stating how Islam clearly encourages unity among various religious groups. He concentrated on other important messages that Islam has been spreading. He strongly denounced the use of violence, hate and discrimination against the minorities. He stated that Islam clearly focuses on the fraternity among different religions.
The second speaker shed light on his journey from being a stone pelter to an activist. He shared many aspects of his transformation journey. He vividly remembered how he felt his dreams were shattered due to stone pelting, when he was imprisoned, and how, as a result, he contested elections at the Panchayati level, made efforts to change and evolve, and significantly contributed to society. He concluded by mentioning how everyone in society should express their grievances through dialogue rather than encouraging violence.
The Chairman of “SYSF” concluded by stating that how Islam has built and has been practicing the modern concepts of modern society. He argued that Islam has always been righteous towards women and abolished ill-practices that used to take place back in 7th century against women and how positively things have reformed since then. He discussed the importance of provision of secular education besides religious one. He stated unequivocally that parents should keep their children away from all anti-national ideology structures. He also shed light on the dangerous consequences of misinformation spreading and how it can negatively affect a person’s life. Therefore, he urged the audience to be aware of various information sources.
An interaction session with the audience was also held, in which the majority of the girls enthusiastically participated and much was learned.
