Baramulla, 27-04-2021: Members of “Save Youth Save Future” organised the latest event of series of full-day trainings as part of the project “Free 4 Youth: Fighting radicalization to enhance e-strategy for a youth-comprehensive approach towards on-line terrorism”.
The event was hosted at Darul_uloom Qurashia Sheeri Baramulla and was attended by 51 participants, among them 31 were mosque Imams and rest were students of the said Madrasa. The event was also attended by the teachers and other staff members of the Madrasa. The event consisted of three sessions. The first session was on promoting cooperation with other actors. The target group of the event were the Imams of the Darul_uloom, who are the main representatives of many mosques across Kashmir and play an important part in the Kashmiri Society. The aim of the second training was to provide them with counseling on recognizing signs of radicalization amongst youth and how to approach them adequately and effectively. Thus, spread the message of peace, brotherhood, and Sufism and counter the circulating extremist narratives.
The main speaker of the event was a renowned Mufti who spoke on the topic of deradicalization and delved into the real concept of Islam, emphasizing on the fact that it professes peace, tolerance and understanding. Finally, open roundtable with the youngsters took place.
At the end of the event, the team of SYSF provided participants with a new computer, books, and other sports equipment for the purposes of modernizing their education and curriculum. The training was followed by an Iftar party for all the students of the madrasa.
